This is some early footage testing out a realtime depth datastream from the Microsoft Kinect controller into EcstasyMotion, a physics/animation app developed in the Torque3D engine.

This video also shows a first pass at filtering the NITE (kinect driver) data to correct errors in the stream. There is also some AI routines being done by the bots, which are handled by EM.

The actor’s captured motions can be recorded realtime, as well as the bot’s reactions. This is just a first look at our Kinect compatibility- work in progress.
